Welcome to our Competition boule pages. All our Petanque boule are approved for play by the F.I.P.J.P. All boule are supplied in sets of three boule with a jack and fabric sleeve and the prices below include delivery to the UK.

To make your selection, please choose which Petanque boule will be right for your play and also the size and weight as well as pattern you prefer. We accept orders over the telephone or by e mail.

Semi Soft Steel boule.

Obut Match Noir. Super all round semi soft boule from Obut, soft enough to

shoot with but hard enough to withstand years of play with a hard coating on the surface to resist wear. A natural step up from leisure boule, finished in black which will come off as you play. An all round semi soft carbon steel boule for shooters and pointers alike giving a minimum recoil. Manufactured from a special steel, annealed to a low degree of hardness then temper treated to give a tough wear resistant surface. 3 year warranty (except the marks, which are caused by the clash due to the low degree of hardness). Soft Steel boule.

TON'R. A fine very soft steel shooters boule giving a minimum recoil performing well in all situations giving you a great advantage. Manufactured from a soft steel, Precision Balanced and one of the softest carbon steel boule we sell at 110kg/mm2 which prevents the boule from rebound when hitting, Finished in Black / Grey blue which will come off during use.
3 year warranty (except the marks, which are caused by the clash due to the low degree of hardness). Degree of hardness: Soft. Agreement-signet of the FlPJP and weight are engraved.

Semi Soft Steel boule.

Obut Match +. Obut supply three boule with the + Hardness and this is one of them. These boule are created using steel with a high internal resistance and a tempering process unique to Obut. This gives a reduced resonance in the boule so it can absorb shocks. It behaves like a very soft boule but with a level of wear you would associate with a traditional semi soft boule. This makes them perfect for pointing and shooting. Great middle boule from Obut, soft enough to shoot but also great for pointing. An all round semi soft carbon steel boule for shooters and pointers alike giving a minimum recoil. Manufactured from a special steel, annealed to a low degree of hardness. Finished in black. 3 year warranty (except the marks, which are caused by the clash due to the low degree of hardness). Degree of hardness: Semi Soft.

OBUT RCC.

Designed for the modern Petanque game and performance, the RCC (rebound control carbon alloy steel), this is one of the latest generation of high range competition from Obut. It is a boule using the latest concentration of new metallurgical technologies. This cutting edge development has allowed Obut to use a new carbon steel alloy and adapt a new concept specific to petanque boule manufacture.

The results give an incomparable capacity to absorb and cushion an impact, especially on very hard ground, during a high lob and a shooting boule to boule, its very special precise heat treatment process, gives the RCC three additional qualities desired by petanque players.

OBUT ATX. The choice of Specialists. Manufactured to your exact requirements from very high quality special stainless steel. Shot peened finish. This boule is so precision balanced the individual boule only vary 2 grams between the set of three. Each boule is made to 20 hundredths of a millimetre to your chosen diameter. Balanced to 0.5% of the weight of the boule. Anti rebound boule performing as shooter or pointer on all surfaces. Degree of hardness: Semi Soft. Can be engraved with your name if required. 3 year warranty (except the marks which are caused by the clash due to low degree of hardness). Agreement signet of the FIPJP and weight are engraved.

Most of the boule types above are stocked in our Petanque shop in Bardwell but some sizes, weights and patterns may not be available due to the massive range of options. We carry the largest stock of Competition boule in the UK. However, if we do not have the right boule for you we can usually deliver 4 weeks after your order.

Most boule can be delivered from stock within 5 working days. The last two boule above are special to order boule and are not carried in stock although we do have samples so you can see the finish etc to make your selection

Boule care and Boule engraving.

Boule Engraving.

Obut Boule Engraving. All semi soft and Soft boule can be engraved with your name ( up to 15 Characters ) or your initials. This process is carried out at the factory subject to FIPJP conditions so will not be available from our usual UK stock. The boule are taken out of the standard production process and so may take up to 6 weeks longer to deliver to you than our normal stock boule

The engraving can be a single letter up to 15.

Obut Boule Name Engraving. This engraving is for 1 to a maximum of 15 characters. 15 characters are only available on the boule with limited striations i.e. 0 on soft and semi soft boule. Limited to 6 Characters on other double striations.
