Do not start too tightly. A gentle hug fit will be fine at first and then tighten over a few days so you get used to wearing a corset
Only eat when wearing the corset.
Take your time. It is not to be rushed putting it on or taking it off.
Wear a layer under the corset like a sports compression top. This will make the corset a little more comfortable to wear and keep the inside of the corset clean if you plan to wear it every day. Just change the underlayer each day.
