A corset is not just for Halloween
Victorian Corsets are strange to a lot of 21st century wearers. They can have pitfalls as well as advantages. They are serious bit of engineering and if worn incorrectly or are ill fitting they can cause a multitude of problems to the wearer. We hear lots of horror stories and they do have an air of danger about them because of this. However, take your time, do some research and best of all get some good sound advice. If budget is no problem go for a custom made corset. If money is tight then try a few different styles. Find out what is comfortable and works for you. Do not rush in and wear one for 12 hours straight. It can cause a very uncomfortable reaction and lead to minor swelling of the corseted areas after removal. Take your time, try an underbust from a well known maker and most of all have fun wearing your corset. It can be for a party, a wedding outfit, a breathtaking night in or an amazing night out. It could be used as part of a weight loss program or a Steampunk event and of course Burlesque. They are daring, risqué and of course give an amazing figure.
